Questions

West Midlands Wedding Photographer

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, HOW SHOULD I CHOOSE MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Once you have found a photographer whose photos you like and feel would be a great fit for your Wedding, there are 2 things we would always recommend checking:

(1) Personality Your photographer will be the one supplier who will be with you during your wedding day. The last thing you want is to book a photographer whose personality clashes with yours. Before booking your photographer arrange to meet for a coffee or video call.

(2) Consistency The images you view on a photographer’s website are often examples of their very best work. It is important to check that your photographer is consistently providing this quality of work for their couples. You want to book someone who can rock every wedding they work no matter the conditions.

WILL YOU NEED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT OUR WEDDING DAY IN ADVANCE?

Yes, I will. Useful information for me to have on your wedding day includes things like the locations where you’ll be getting ready, the ceremony and reception, timelines for the day, a list of the group photos you’ll want and any sensitivities we should be aware of. I'll collect all this information from you via a face-to-face meeting, phone or video call during the booking process or ahead of the wedding if you're still in the planning process.

HOW DO WE SECURE YOUR SERVICES?

Once I have all the details I need about your wedding, I will place all this information into a contract and email it to you with an invoice for the booking fee.

HOW MUCH IS THE BOOKING FEE?

The booking fee is £50, this fee secures my services for your wedding and is also deducted from the package cost when calculating any balances owed.

WHEN DOES THE REMAINING BALANCE HAVE TO BE PAID?

After paying the booking fee I will issue a separate invoice for the remaining balance, this can be paid off anytime up until 3 weeks before the wedding date giving you the flexibility to pay any small amounts over time or in one go up until the 3 week deadline.

DO YOU COVER SHORT-NOTICE WEDDINGS?

Absolutely. However, with short-notice weddings or weddings that are less than 3 weeks away, we generally require full payment upon booking.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Absolutely not. Although, if you offer, it's always appreciated! All I ask is that I get a small break during the time you and your guests eat.

WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH OUR WEDDING DECORATIONS AND DETAILS?

Absolutely! Details add to the story too, especially if it captures your personality and values.

WHAT IF I’M UNCOMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?

You're not alone. Most people feel the same way. I keep my approach during the formal photo part of the wedding day relaxed and fun to make you feel at ease.

HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING WEDDINGS?

I've been shooting weddings since 2013

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU DELIVER PER WEDDING?

This varies depending on what package you book. For example, if you book the Traditional Package, you will receive between 125 - 200 photos altogether from your wedding day.

HOW LONG AFTER OUR WEDDING DAY WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

You can expect to receive wedding photos on USB or digital download within 2 - 3 weeks of the wedding date.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, as a professional photographer, I'm fully insured with both liability and indemnity insurance.

DO YOU CARRY BACKUPS IN CASE YOUR GEAR BREAKS?

I've never had any issues with gear so far and have no reason to believe I would in the future. However, I'm always prepared, so on your wedding day, I ensure I have backup equipment just in case.

WHAT DOES COPYRIGHT MEAN AND WHO GETS IT?

Whoever owns the copyright of a photo owns that photo and has the right to do with it as they wish. As with the majority of photographers in the UK, I own the copyright of the photos I take at your wedding. I then give you a licence to use the photos for unlimited personal use. This means you can post them on social media, share them with friends and family, and get albums and prints made. You can pretty much do as you please with them.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE ILL OR INJURED FOR OUR WEDDING?

To date, I've photographed over 150 weddings and never missed a single one, be it from illness or injury and touch wood, never will. However, this is sadly something I cannot guarantee.

Luckily, I'm part of a wide community of wedding photographers, many of whom share a similar style and approach to me. So if something did stop me from photographing your wedding, I would use my network to find a suitable replacement
